Music is very subjective

Music …….. According to my experience music is very subjective it depends on our perception. I have seen so may people and so many judges making comments on the contestants that there voice quality is suitable of certain kind of songs……………. Ya it may be true but . I have seen those contestants singing the songs out of there genre very beautifully. So who actually decides what our genre is -------- actually no one can decide that dear frnds----- I have sung those songs which were said to be (not of my genre). I don’t think that I am not good in this genre. If rafi saahab , kishore saahab would have beleaved these comments at there career time then they would not have succeeded in there music career. Please don’t believe these false comments. It’s a scientific fact every one has got different voice, if we all have got different voises then how come we will sing the songs the way rafi and kishore sang Its not possible man its unscientific with all due regards to these great s

Originality in music/ arts

There a lot of singers in hindi music singers but some of the people who created history were people like rafi saahab. This song that I have sung is for that legendary singer…………….. and it’s a tribute to him. We can never be like him but one thing I learnt from him is originality….. I have never followed any singer but I like some of the great Indian singers a lot like--- rafi, kishore, hariharan, sonu nigam, sukhwinder etc. I have learnt a lot from them……. Because they all were original . Only sonu nigam has followed rafi saahb but now he is also singing in his original style……… So all new singers don’t be a copy-cat follow your style and follow your heart….

The musical jelousy

The musical jelousy -------- Many times I keep on wondering that jelousy ! is it harmful or beneficial in certain situations? Well if I talk about people who don’t have anything to do in there lives but they cant see anybody growing and being successful in there lives, Very very depressing but that’s human nature. But people who are hardworking in nature and they understand the importance of time as well , they will not get jelous of anyone and they will value there hard work and others hard work as well……. As you all know that I am a singer I got to meet so may people in this confusing but interesting industry. I learnt classical , semiclassical, light from my mother and different gurus since my childhood, done a lot of practice on singing and instruments that I play. I will tell you some incidents which happened with me and then you can figure out what is right and what is wrong. According to the manners in music when ever somebody sings we always appreciate & we a

Anaahat naada

Anahat naada In all the religions there are teachings of the supreme power or god . Many religions would not even believe in the existence of god. Many of these religions would believe in forces of nature , where many of them would believe in pure soul. All of these things are the same and tell the same thing, in Indian religion a term is used and is very scientific in its own way. That term is “ anaahat naada”. Naada means sound, there are two types of sounds classified in vedas and different granths like ashtavakra geeta explains the ultimate truth in its purest form. They explain that there are two types of sounds---- Aahat naad & anaahat naad , even guru granth sahib also explains that ultimate truth is anaahat naada and only that person can experience it who surrenders itself to the absolute zero , the absolute eternity or infinity. Aahat naad is a sound which is produced when two things come closer and strike with each other, in science we can see nothing in th

Times changed poetry

Times changed poetry— Hey all in this blog I want to share how the Indian poetry and the different forms of styles of Indian poetry changed by the changing times. It is all related to history of india, the moguhals and English (simon commission) played a vital role in changing the style of poetry in india. When moghouls came to india and invaded india a new form of poetry started ghazals and kawwali styles……… Kawwali is a rather sufi style of poetry in which the sufi saints use to express there feelings towards allah. My emphasis is on the time when there was lot of influence of lakhnow gharana on the northern belt in india. Different forms of singing and poetry which were there in india like thumari (in which classical singers use to show lot of gayaki ang ) there were lot of harkat & murkis , kan swars in thumari ang . Basically it is a form in which a classical singer don’t have to follow the strict grammer of Indian classical ragas and they can show there own style.

gurus of today

Gurus of today- ---- Hey all, Now days people associated with the world of the classical music in india are saying a lot of things about the people who are not classically trained and still making there mark in bollywood industry. I want to ask a question to all the good musicians one thing. According to my experience and my conversations with my first and best guru in classical and light music (my mother):------ She use to tell me that music industary is corrupted now days I beleave her but never use to beleave her when she use to say there things about the classical singers and gurus… But now that I have experienced it my self now I do beleave this because my mother Mrs. jasbeer kaur sodhi is very experienced in this field, so she use to make me aware of this field, so that I should remain aleart of these frauds………… I am, very sorry to use this word for every guru in music but mind it it’s not for everyone who is teaching from the depths of there heart and giving every t

World is full of music

Music has no boundaries, we all know that in this post I want to share my research and ideas about music all around the world and people who are really interested in music will like it:-- People in india think that there music is the toughest and the most classical forms of music in the world, which is quite true but its also true that there a lot of music in rest of the world. For example:-- English symphony, latin classical music , irish music, Pakistani music, Arabic music, jazz, blues, country, lounge, club, conga music, afro-american music, afro-cuba music etc . There is a big world out there performing great and the toughest forms of music out there. Luciana Pavarotti, andria balluchi etc. are very good performers of Latin classical music. Who can forget bethoven’s symphony , mosart’s compositions etc. My favourates in English music is the instrumental one. The pipe organ is one of the magnum-opus made by humans. This instrument has big pillars of pipes fitted inside th

Are we real listeners of music-- as i have posted in my previous blog. the links that i have posted in my previous blog are my songs that i have sung on you tube and ibibo (a talent promoting site). i want to ask everyone that are we real listners of music ? i have been researching on music i have learnt indian classical music from my nother (a classical trainer), my guruji from jaipur gharana and my guruji professor kirpaal singh ji but what i want to know is that after learning so much how are the people who are participating in these reality shows are getting selected and what is there selection criteria. we, the peolpe who learn music and people who teach music know that many of there contestants are fake the are following the old singers and are not even following them corrctly but the people who are singing well why are they not getting selected, is this just an eyewash for all the other participants. i have seen in these shows that when the contestants are performing the produ
